An Egg Harbor Township car stop led to drugs, money and the driver’s car being seized Friday.
Officer Ben Kollman stopped Samuel Jean for several motor vehicle violations at about 1:15 p.m. near the Boardwalk Honda on Tilton Road, Lt. Michael Finnerty said.
An investigation led to 5.3 ounces of cocaine and 2 grams of raw marijuana, according to the report.
Jean’s vehicle and $920 in cash were also seized.
The stop was part of a directed patrol called DDACTS, or Data Driven Approach to Crime and Traffic Safety.
“The application of high-visibility traffic enforcement is a proven and effective countermeasure that addresses both crime and crashes whether they occur simultaneously or independently in time and/or location,” a news release stated, quoted the Bureau of Justice.
Jean, 36, of Mays Landing, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, distribution of heroin/cocaine and failure to surrender drugs to law enforcement, along with traffic offenses.
He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
