A Portsmouth, Virginia man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon.
Police were called to Route 40 and Cantillion Boulevard at 12:22 p.m. for a crash between a tractor-trailer and a car, police said.
Frank Alibrando, 56, of Brick, was heading east on Route 40 driving a 2015 International tractor-trailer when the driver of a Toyota sedan traveling west crossed the center line and struck Alibrando's truck, according to an investigation.
The driver of the sedan was killed, police said. He was identified as Gary Lee Smith, 71.
Alibrando was not injured.
The Hamilton Township Rescue Squad, Mays Landing and Laureldale fire departments, Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and a state medical examiner assisted at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
