A teenage girl was fatally shot in Atlantic City on Thursday morning.
Naimah Bell, 15, was found dead inside a recently vacated rental home in the 100 block of South Massachusetts Avenue around 4 a.m., BreakingAC confirmed.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
Atlantic City police received a 911 call at 4:17 a.m., Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
Police arrived to find the 15-year-old city girl had been shot and killed, Tyner said.
An autopsy will be conducted today and the incident is being investigated as a homicide.
The girl graduated Pleasantville Middle School last year, according to a posting of the event on her Facebook page, where she happily boasts “Class of 2018,” with her friends.
Bell was getting ready to enter her sophomore year at Atlantic City High School.
This is the seventh fatal shooting in the city this year, and the third teenager to die.

As a result, community members have been having prayer meetings and rallies weekly.
