15-year-old girl killed in Atlantic City

  • News

A teenage girl was fatally shot in Atlantic City on Thursday morning.
Naimah Bell, 15, was found dead inside a recently vacated rental home in the 100 block of South Massachusetts Avenue around 4 a.m., BreakingAC confirmed.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating.

Atlantic City police received a 911 call at 4:17 a.m., Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
Police arrived to find the 15-year-old city girl had been shot and killed, Tyner said.
An autopsy will be conducted today and the incident is being investigated as a homicide.
The girl graduated Pleasantville Middle School last year, according to a posting of the event on her Facebook page, where she happily boasts "Class of 2018," with her friends.
Bell was getting ready to enter her sophomore year at Atlantic City High School.
This is the seventh fatal shooting in the city this year, and the third teenager to die.
Quran Bazemore, 16, died June 25, nine days after he was shot on Arctic Avenue. A 15-year-old boy is charged with murder in that case.
Katusca "Cecy" Robles, 18, was killed inside her North Pennsylvania Avenue home July 3. She was the mother of an infant boy.

As a result, community members have been having prayer meetings and rallies weekly.
Each Monday, the group meets in a different town. On Tuesdays, different Atlantic City houses of worship have been hosting meetings.
Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or who may have information on a suspect is asked to call Major Crimes at 609-909-7666 or Atlantic City police at 609-347-5766. Information may also be submitted anonymously online via the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office website or in a text to tip411 (847411) beginning the message with ACPD.
