Galloway second-grader takes lead in helping

  • Sunday Special

Jayden Archie loves to help.

Every December, the Galloway Township 7-year-old gives toys to kids in need.

He’s a Goodwill Ambassador at Reeds Road Elementary School , where he is a second-grader. His duties consist of introducing new students to the school, giving them a tour and making sure they have someone to eat lunch with and play.

So when the school had a reusable bag and sock drive for the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, he decided to go a step above, his proud mother told BreakingAC.

“Jayden really wanted to get as many donations as he could to give back to the community,” Shamara Archie explained.

He made a list of organizations and set about reaching out to each one. He got more than 250 bags and socks from organizations that included the Galloway Township Police Department, AtlantiCare and Target.

Jayden was also recognized by his principal, receiving a gold coin award and a “Best Effort” honor.
