Three out-of-state residents were arrested after shots were fired from an Atlantic City balcony on Sunday night.

Police were called to the Club Wyndham Skyline Tower in the beach block of North Carolina Avenue at about 10:20 p.m., Capt. Kevin Fair said.

An investigation led to a room on the 21st floor, where two men and a woman were found, according to the report.

Zara Griffiths, 41, of Paoli, Pa., told police there was a firearm in the room, but it was not found where she told them, Fair said.

Officer John Bell applied for a search warrant, which led to two handguns inside the room, according to the report.

Griffiths was arrested, along with Corey Brown, 42, of Chesapeake, Va., and Malik Dean, 43, of Philadelphia.

All three were charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, three counts of a high-capacity magazine, and single counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of hollow-point ammunition.

Dean was additionally charged with certain person not to possess a weapon, due to an apparent criminal history.

All three are in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending detention hearings.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 609-347-5766. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
